The method involves connecting the pressure sensors (2L.P,2R.P) attached to the respective cavities (2L,2R) by using a deformable hose (1). The pressure and/or the pressure change in the cavities are detected by the pressure sensors, so that the pressure change in the cavities is evaluated. The pressure sensors are provided with respective electrical plug regions (2L.2), and apertures (2L.1,2R.1) arranged between respective plug regions and interior regions of the pressure sensors. A test sound pressure level (S3) is introduced into the plug region (2L.2) of pressure sensor. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) pressure sensor; and (2) function test device for crash sensor system.
