The system (50) has a high pressure pump (28) connected to a fuel filter module (26) for pumping fuel from a fuel filter module. A bimetallic thermostatic flow valve (100) includes a bimetallic element i.e. movable spring, in thermal communication with a returning fuel that flows through the bimetallic thermostatic flow valve causing the bimetallic element to deflect in response to the thermal communication, so that the fuel flows to one of a fuel pump module reservoir (38) and an in-tank low pressure lift pump (20). An independent claim is also included for a bimetal thermostat flow valve.
