PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting apparatus, a short circuit failure discrimination method and a program, capable of detecting a short circuit failure if a voltage drop at the point of the short circuit failure is small.SOLUTION: A light-emitting apparatus 10 includes a light-emitting portion 11 configured of N light-emitting units 110 each composed of a semiconductor light-emitting element 111 and a series circuit, connected in parallel to the semiconductor light-emitting element 111 and composed of a Zener diode 113, connected in the same direction as the semiconductor light-emitting element 111, and a rectifier diode 112 connected in the opposite direction. The light-emitting apparatus 10 includes: in the light-emitting portion 11, a light-emitting drive circuit for applying a forward voltage to the semiconductor light-emitting element 111; and short-circuit failure discrimination means for applying a backward voltage to the light-emitting portion 11, and based on the applied voltage and a flowing current, discriminating the presence/absence of a short circuit failure in the semiconductor light-emitting element 111. |
