The present invention relates to a three-dimensional interface apparatus that performs control using motion detection, and to a control method therefor, as well as to a method for controlling an operating range and movement speed of an interface. The interface apparatus of the present invention comprises a display unit serving as a display device; a control terminal for generating a signal to be outputted to the display unit and controlling an operation of the display unit; and an interface unit connected to the control terminal and takes, as an input, a user command from a user and transmits the user command to the control terminal. The interface unit includes: a sensing unit for sensing a motion of the user; and a control unit for controlling the operation of the interface unit. According to the above-described interface apparatus of the present invention, the input range of a spatial interface apparatus can be set to a desired size, and thus the speed of a mapping pointer can be adjusted. Thus, a spatial interface apparatus capable of being adjusted to suit the characteristics and preferences of a user can be provided.
