PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indirect matrix converter which can improve the precision of current detection.SOLUTION: A converter 1 converts an input AC voltage into a DC voltage, and applies the DC voltage between a positive electrode side power supply line LH and a negative electrode side power supply line LL. A snubber circuit 2 has a capacitor C1 provided between the power supply lines LH, LL, and a diode D1 connected in series with the capacitor C1 between the power supply lines LH, LL, and including an anode on the power supply line LH side in the series path with the capacitor C1. The inverter 3 inverts the DC voltage into an AC voltage being applied to an inductive load 8. An inverter side current detection section 4 detects a current flowing through the power supply line LH or LL, between the inverter 3 and the snubber circuit 2. |
