PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately hold, in a configuration of including a recording medium conveyor having a grip part for gripping a front end of a recording medium and a hold part for holding a rear end thereof, each of recording media having different thicknesses without performing replacement to the hold part according to the thickness of the recording medium.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 includes a photoreceptor drum 22, a transfer drum 30, a rear end gripper 34, a rear end gripper driving unit, a transfer bias application unit 33, a thickness discrimination unit, and a control unit 100 for performing control of causing the rear end gripper 34 to hold a rear end of a recording paper sheet P at a position according to a thickness of the recording paper sheet P discriminated by the thickness discrimination unit. Here, when the recording paper sheet P is changed to one having a larger thickness, the control unit 100 causes the rear end gipper 34 to hold a rear end thereof at a position according to the thickness of the recording paper sheet P. Thereby, even when a kick-up force of the rear end of the thick recording paper P is large, the rear end of the recording paper sheet P is held with the same tension as applied in the case of a thin one, each of recording paper sheets p having different thicknesses can be held without replacing the rear end gripper 34. |
