The arrangement has shaft bearings inserted in a separable connection construction part for bearing a rotor shaft (5). An auxiliary bearing (14) includes an inner ring (9) and an outer ring and a rolling body e.g. cylindrical roller, and is permanently or temporarily connected with the rotor shaft and partially supported on the construction parts with the outer rings. A hydraulic unit acts on the auxiliary bearing and brings the rotor shaft from first level to second level during actuation of the hydraulic unit on the auxiliary bearing. An independent claim is also included for a method for exchanging a shaft bearing.
