Disclosed are a polyvalent carboxylic acid composition and a curing agent composition, each of which reduces the volatilization of a curing agent at the time of curing, and also gives a cured material having excellent heat resistance, optical properties, and moldability. Also disclosed is a curable resin composition containing the polyvalent carboxylic acid composition or curing agent composition. The curable polyvalent carboxylic acid composition and curing agent composition each contain a polyvalent carboxylic acid resin obtained by a reaction between bis(dimethylol)dialkyl ether and an acid anhydride.
