Provided is a variable displacement gear pump which, by the use of a simple structure, increases and decreases the discharge volume during operation. A variable displacement gear pump comprises a pair of a driving gear and a driven gear, which are housed within a gear chamber formed within a housing and which mesh with each other while being in external contact with each other. The gear pump increases, in the gear chamber, the pressure of sucked fluid and discharges the fluid. The gear pump is provided with: a pivotably supported shaft section which is supported in a pivotable manner by the housing; an eccentric shaft which is eccentric relative to the pivotably supported shaft section and which has a driven gear supporting section for supporting the driven gear in a rotatable manner; and an eccentric shaft pivoting means which is connected to the pivotably supported shaft section and which causes the eccentric shaft to pivot.
