PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with a low driving voltage and satisfactory durability.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises a substrate, a pair of electrodes including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and an organic layer disposed between the electrodes. The organic layer includes a phosphorescent element comprising a chemical compound having a phenyl group in a specific benzonitrile structure and having a specific amine structure. Thereby, the driving voltage is reduced and the durability is improved.
