PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle which can inexpensively perform fail-safe.SOLUTION: A steering device 1 for a vehicle released in mechanical connection between a steering member 2 and a steering wheel which are operated in multiple rotation comprises a rotation angle regulation mechanism 14 for regulating a rotation angle of the steering member 2 within a regulation angle range. In a normal mode, a steering actuator is drive-controlled on the basis of a steering angle detected by a steering angle sensor 12. In a fail mode in which an abnormality occurs in the steering angle sensor 12, the steering actuator is drive-controlled on the basis of a steering direction detected by a steering direction detection sensor. The steering direction detection sensor detects the steering direction on the basis of the fact that, in which end out of a pair of terminal ends within the regulation angle range, the rotation angle regulation mechanism 14 regulates the rotation angle of the steering member 2. |
