A method for installing an AP(Access Point) antenna on the basis of the distance from an obstacle is provided to enable an AP antenna to show its optimum performance to the full by obtaining the distance between the AP antenna and a ceiling by using a Fresnel zone and the distance between the AP antenna and a wall by using propagation modeling. In installing a wireless LAN AP antenna which uses a frequency band of 2.4GHz, the first distance between the AP antenna and a ceiling is calculated by using a Fresnel zone. Then, the second distance between the AP antenna and a wall is calculated by using propagation modeling, based on antenna locations. A user installs the AP antenna by using the first distance and the second distance. In this case, it is desirable that the first distance is 12 to 20cm and the second distance is 3cm. |
