PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a nonwoven fabric for a semipermeable membrane support in which MD curling is excellent when a semipermeable membrane coating liquid is coated to a support (nonwoven fabric), and is cured; and a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A nonwoven fabric for a semipermeable membrane support is a nonwoven fabric in which combined fiber is organic synthesis fiber, and supports a semipermeable membrane to one surface of the nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric before performing heating pressure process is one layer structure, the organic synthesis fiber contains main fiber, the main fiber is polyester main fiber, and a level of thermal melting of the organic synthesis fiber of a middle layer region is lower than a level of thermal melting of the organic synthesis fiber of a coating surface region and a non-coating surface region. When the nonwoven fabric on which a semipermeable membrane is coated is peeled to two layers in a thickness direction and thus is divided to a semipermeable membrane coating side layer and a semipermeable membrane non-coating side layer, the semipermeable membrane coating side layer accounts for 35 mass% to 70 mass% of the total of the semipermeable membrane coating side layer and the semipermeable membrane non-coating side layer. |
