PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification method or the like, which can be used under an environment without network, and can avoid a risk of counterfeit or alteration.SOLUTION: An article 1 has a taggant distribution part 12 and an IC chip 13. In the IC chip 13, reference feature point data 30 is stored. An individual identification device 2 reads the reference feature point data 30 of a reading target from the IC chip 13 (S21). A user reads the taggant distribution part 12 of a target article by a reading technique displayed in a display part 23 by using an optical reading device 3 (S22). The individual identification device 2 executes predetermined image processing to a predetermined comparison area 16 (S23), and causes a feature point included in the predetermined comparison area 16 to appear, so as to extract target feature point data (S24). Then, the individual identification device 2 compares the read reference feature point data 30 with the target feature point data (S25), and discriminates whether or not a reference article and the target article are the same individual (S26). |
