The device has a rotary circular disk (5) wetted with fluid e.g. sliding agent, on side surfaces, and immersed into an open sealing profile of a seal (1), where the sealing profile is displaceable in a longitudinal direction. The fluid is located in a fluid container (6) arranged under the circular disk. The disk side surfaces contact sealing surfaces of the sealing profile. The seal rests in a longitudinal guide device in a lengthwise-movable manner. A transport apparatus i.e. transport roller, moves the seal in the longitudinal direction over the disk with predetermined transport speed.
