The associated riller is cut in the longitudinal and transverse walls of folding box (2) by cutting machine (4) of closing machine (1) at vertical edges to the filling height of the packaging goods. The vertically upwardly open folding box with packaging goods is supplied to cover folding station (5). The cover flaps are folded around associated riller of the folding box in cover folding station. The box is fed and is closed in a closing station (6). An independent claim is included for closing machine.
