An oxidation catalyst for oxidizing and removing carbon monoxide and/or carbon hydride contained in an exhaust gas, which is formed of a mixture of: a catalyst (A) that is provided with a first oxide carrier containing 25% by mass or more of titania and copper oxide supported by the first oxide carrier; and a catalyst (B) that is provided with a second oxide carrier containing 80% by mass or more of at least one oxide that is selected from among alumina, ceria and zirconia and a noble metal supported by the second oxide carrier.
