Provided is a digital television for achieving serial communications, which comprises a main chip and a mini USB interface, wherein any three paths in the mini USB interface are respectively connected to a serial data transmitting end (TX) of the main chip, a serial data receiving end (RX) of the main chip and a common end (GND) of the main chip. Also provided is a system for achieving serial communications. The digital television and system for achieving serial communications provided in the embodiments of the present utility model are adopted to enable a software debugging interface of the digital television to have a small dimension and occupy a small space by reasonably replacing an RS232 interface for serial communications with a mini USB interface.
