PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical phase synchronization loop apparatus capable of demodulating a signal of a high bit rate without using a wide-band analog arithmetic unit capable of precise multiplication in a wide band up to a few tens of GHz.SOLUTION: The optical phase synchronization loop apparatus comprises interference signal generation means 20, modulation electric signal generation means 22, intensity holding means 30, analog arithmetic means 40, and local oscillation light generation means 50. The intensity holding means holds for a predetermined period the intensities of an I axis signal and a Q axis signal generated by the interference signal generation means and the modulation electric signal generation means to generate first and second intensity holding signals. The analog arithmetic means generates a phase error signal from the first and second intensity holding signals. The local oscillation light generation means sets the phase or frequency of local oscillation light on the basis of the phase error signal. |
