PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high transmission efficiency and a high response speed in torque transmission by mitigating stress concentration at a specific place in the longitudinal direction of a long size medical instrument.SOLUTION: A medical instrument (e.g., a catheter 10) has a long size and is flexible, including a tubular body 300 to be inserted to a body cavity. The tubular body 300 includes a first tubular part (e.g., a first coil 310) and a second tubular part (e.g, a second coil 320) that are mutually adjacent in the longitudinal direction of the tubular body 300. Twist rigidity of the first tubular part is smaller than twist rigidity of the second tubular part. The tubular body 300, furthermore, includes a reinforcement part 80 for reinforcing the first tubular part. The twist rigidity of the tubular body 300 in the formation area of the reinforcement part 80 becomes larger toward a boundary 90. |
