PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a Q-value of a surface acoustic wave element.SOLUTION: A surface acoustic wave element 100 comprises a pair of two reflectors 30, and a pair of comb-like electrodes 20 provided between the reflectors. The reflectors 30 and the comb-like electrodes 20 are provided on a crystal piece 10. The comb-like electrodes 20 are aligned so that electrode fingers 21 have different polarities for every two fingers, and an interval of the adjacent electrode fingers are alternately and repeatedly arranged to satisfy λi/4-α and λi/4+α(0<|α|<λi/8). The reflectors 30 are arranged in a stop band obtained by the reflectors at a portion having a radial conductance peak of surface acoustic waves generated by the comb-like electrodes, and so that an interval of the plural electrode fingers 31 in the reflectors alternately repeats λr/4-&bgr; and λr/4+&bgr;(0<|&bgr;|<λr/8). |
