PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system that are capable of precisely detecting a running impediment degree of a bicycle.SOLUTION: A method includes steps of: detecting a running speed of a bicycle (S1); detecting at least one of a steering angle of a bicycle handle and its steering angular speed as a handle operation quantity of the bicycle (S2); outputting a running impediment degree for the bicycle as an increase function of an absolute value of the handle operation quantity when the running speed is equal to or greater than a predetermined threshold V(S3 to S4); and outputting the running impediment degree as a decrease function of the absolute value of the running speed when the running speed is equal to or less than the threshold V(S3 to S5). Furthermore, when the running speed is equal to the threshold V, the method includes a step of setting the running impediment degree so that the decrease function takes a minimum value while the increase function takes a maximum value and that the maximum value coincides with the minimum value. |
