An electronic baggage tag has an electronic display screen, preferably on both sides of the tag, thus facilitating optical or human reading of the tag. The tag is writeable via a near-field communication interface, for example by means of an NFC-enabled mobile communications device, thus enabling a user to retrieve flight data and configure the baggage tag without the need to visit a kiosk or operator terminal. The data on the tag can be read over the NFC interface. |
