PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress color mixtures at respective discharge ports of a discharge face on which a first discharge port and a second discharge port for discharging ink of different colors are formed.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a head having a plurality of discharge ports for discharging inks of different colors; a wiping mechanism having a wiper for wiping a discharge face 1a; a pump which performs a purge operation for discharging the ink; and a control part for controlling them. The control part makes a first sequence including a first purge operation for discharging the ink from the discharge port of one discharge region and a first wiping operation for wiping the discharge face after the purge operation, and a second sequence including a second purge operation for discharging the ink from the discharge port of the other discharge region and a second wiping operation for wiping the discharge face after the purge operation is carried out selectively. |
