PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of mercaptopropionate is provided to increase yield and minimize an unreacted mercaptopropionate by using a polar cationic solvent under a low pressure and the presence of an acid catalyst and to minimize sulfur smell due to the unreacted mercaptopropionate. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of mercaptopropionate includes a step of manufacturing a mercaptopropionate compound represented by chemical formula 3 by making a propionic acid represented by chemical formula 1 in a cationic solvent selected from butanol, isopropanol, ethanol, propanol, and pentanol in a vacuum condition, at 20-90 °C, under the presence of an acid catalyst with polyol represented by chemical formula 2, to manufacture the mercaptopropionate compound represented by chemical formula 3. In the chemical formulas, each of R1 and R2 is independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; p is 2-4; q is 0-1; and p+q does not exceed 4. |
