PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of recovering the falling parts of the bristles of an application brush.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a rotating photoreceptor drum 1413, a lubricant 183, an application brush 181 rotated while being in contact with the photoreceptor drum 1413 and the lubricant 183, to scrape the lubricant 183 and apply the lubricant 183 to the photoreceptor drum 1413, a raising member 182 rotated in contact with the application brush 181, and a control part 200 moving a part 190 of the bristles of the application brush 181 being in contact with the photoreceptor drum 1413 in such a state that the rotation of the photoreceptor drum 1413 is stopped to a non-contact position with the photoreceptor drum 1413 and rotating the raising member 182, to bring the raising member 182 into contact with a part 190 of the bristles of the application brush 181 moved to the non-contact position, before the rotation of the photoreceptor drum 1413 is started. |
