PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing testing device which prevents damages of a drive part and a rotational axis for a load to be applied to the drive part, and a method for controlling the bearing testing device.SOLUTION: A bearing testing device includes: a load bearing 6 which is provided on the inner peripheral side of a support ring 2 to be installed to a rotational axis 15, and contacts the rotational axis 15; an air spring 4 which drives the support ring 2 to adjust inclination of the rotational axis 15 via the load bearing 6; a pin 11 which supports a load of the support ring 2; and an actuator 10 for support which drives the pin 11 on the basis of the load to be applied to the air spring 4 to support the support ring 2 by the pin 11. In addition, the bearing testing device further includes a load bearing connection part 7 which is provided between the support ring 2 and the load bearing 6, and by which switching between elastic characteristics and attenuation force characteristics is possible, the load bearing connection part 7 may be made to demonstrate the attenuation force characteristics on the basis of the load to be applied to the air spring 4, and the pin 11 may be driven when a load exceeding an allowable range is further applied. |
