PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit of an internal combustion engine, which can effectively improve driveability at a restart brought about by actuation of an automatic stop/start device.SOLUTION: An ECU is a control unit of an internal combustion engine which is mounted in a vehicle including automatic transmissions 8 and 9 and having an idling stop function, the function correcting ignition timing to an advanced ignition side when a brake operates in a D-range, and additionally stopping driving automatically in the case of establishment of predetermined stop conditions, and bringing about a restart by correcting the ignition timing to a retard side and engaging clutches 84 and 85 with each other in the case of establishment of predetermined restart conditions after the automatic stop of the driving. When the brake is actuated during a period from the restart in the D-range to the engagement of the clutches 84 and 85, correction to the advanced ignition side is inhibited. |
