PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a toner from being leaked and scattered when a toner cloud on a toner carrier is moved to a toner storage part.SOLUTION: A developing device includes the toner carrier in which a first electrode and a second electrode are alternately disposed through an insulator at a predetermined pitch in a circumferential direction, toner supply means supplying the toner to the endless moving surface of the toner carrier, and a seal member located on the downstream side from a development position in the rotational direction of the toner carrier and sealing the inside and outside of the device. In the developing device applying such a voltage that the potential difference between the first electrode and the second electrode is time reversed, to make the toner a cloud and conveying the toner to the development position by the movement of the surface of the toner carrier, the seal member comprises a cylindrical rotary member and the surface facing the toner carrier of the rotary member is rotated in the same direction as that of the toner carrier. |
