PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lamp including a compact solenoid actuator capable of securing a driving force necessary for driving a variable shade and preventing overheating.SOLUTION: A vehicle lamp having a variable shade 5 for blocking a part of light emitted from a light source 2 to obtain a required light distribution includes a solenoid actuator 6 for driving the variable shade 5 to switch light distribution, and a current control device 10 for controlling current supplied to the actuator 6. The current control device 10 controls initial current supplied when starting the actuator 6 to large current larger than constant current supplied thereafter. The actuator 6 is quickly started by the initial current, and heat generation is suppressed by the actuator 6 by driving with small current. |
