摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus which is able to obtain a sufficient displacement characteristic by using a compound oxide of a perovskite structure including bismuth, iron, barium and titanium as a piezoelectric material.SOLUTION: A liquid ejecting device includes: a piezoelectric element having a piezoelectric layer and an electrode; and a driving means which supplies a driving waveform to the piezoelectric element, wherein the piezoelectric layer is formed of a compound oxide having a perovskite structure including bismuth, iron, barium and titanium, an is oriented with priority on a (100) plane, wherein the driving waveform includes: a polarization process of applying a first voltage equal to or larger than a coercive voltage of the piezoelectric layer to put the layer into a polarized state; a first voltage changing process of applying a voltage of polarity reverse to the first voltage from the first voltage, mitigating the polarization of the piezoelectric layer and decreasing the potential to the minimum potential; and a second voltage changing process of applying a voltage larger than the first voltage, ejecting liquid and increasing the potential to the maximum potential from the minimum potential, and wherein a difference of electric fields applied to the piezoelectric layer at the maximum potential and the minimum potential is 6.1×10(V/m) or more.
