The arrangement has two primary sensing electrode arrangements (2, 3) displaceably arranged at a vehicle (1). A secondary sensing electrode arrangement (4) is aligned in a region of a lateral end section of the primary arrangements. The primary and secondary arrangements are coupled with a control and evaluating device (5). The device is designed such that a time sequence of capacitance values of the primary arrangements is detected, and a time sequence between a signal change of the primary and secondary arrangements is evaluated during examination of detection operation of the device. The primary sensing electrode arrangements are designed as horizontally extending electrode assemblies.
