A ventilation fan is provided with: a body unit which has an air blower disposed within the body case and which also has an air blowing control unit for controlling the amount of air flow provided by the air blower; and a sensor module which has an interior environment detection sensor and which also has a module control unit for controlling the detection operation of the interior environment detection sensor. The body unit is provided with a module mounting unit to which the sensor module is mounted so as to be capable of being interchanged with another sensor module and which connects to the air blowing control unit. The module control unit outputs detected information to the air blowing control unit, the detected information being based on the result of detection by the interior environment detection sensor. The air blowing control unit controls the amount of air flow provided by the air blower on the basis of the inputted detected information.
