PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight batten cleat for a ceiling board, in which the contact surface of a projection of a male muntin with a wall surface of an engaging groove of a female muntin has high hardness and strength, and the contact surface of the wall surface of the engaging groove of the female muntin with the projection of the male muntin has high hardness and strength.SOLUTION: A batten cleat for a ceiling board includes a male muntin 2 having a projection 4 extending along the lengthwise direction on an external side, and a female muntin 6 having an engaging groove 8 extending along the lengthwise direction on an external side, such that the projection of the male muntin is inserted in the engaging groove of the female muntin. The male muntin and the female muntin are formed from a multilayer material 9 laminated of bamboo material layers 16 and 18 made from a bamboo tree and wooden material layers 10, 12, and 14 made from a fast-growing planted tree or thinned wood. The bamboo material layers are exposed to the surface of the projection of the male muntin in contact with a wall surface of the engaging groove of the female muntin and to the wall surface of the engaging groove of the female muntin in contact with the projection of the male muntin. |
