PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device for coupling a small tugboat to a small boat to be tugged in a straight line.SOLUTION: A coupling device includes: a fixing columnar base 4 with an upward projection shaft 3 which has an inclined top face 2 positioned at a rear of a small tugboat and having a high front end 2a and a low rear end 2b; a horizontally oscillatable movable body 11 which has a downward recessed portion 6 fitted while covering the columnar base 4 and having an upper bottom formed with a downward projection section 26 facing the top face of the columnar base 4 and abutted onto the inclined top face 2, a spring storage chamber 8 formed above the downward recessed portion 6 via a partition 7, a through-hole 9 in the partition 7 fitted onto the upward projection shaft 3 and a longitudinal groove 10 with a front enlarged section behind the spring storage chamber 8; a spring receiver plate 12 at the upper end of the upward projection shaft 3; a coil spring for pressing a movable body between the spring receiver plate 12 and the bottom of the spring storage chamber 8; and a connection member 17 which is fitted to the enlarged section and has a horizontal rod-like projection section 16 fitted into a longitudinal groove, having a stopper at the front end, and in which the rear end is fixed at the front of a subsequent small boat to be tugged. |
