A method for determining a visibility of objects 18 in an X-ray image 30 comprises the steps of: receiving a projective X-ray image 30; estimating a local structuredness indicator 36 of the X-ray image 30, wherein the local structuredness indicators 36 quantifies, whether a region in the X-ray image 30 is more homogenous as another region in the X-ray image 30; and generating a visibility measure 38, 40 for objects 18 in the X-ray image 30 from the local structuredness indicator 36.
