PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can be opened at the front or completely opened, and to provide a hinge for a printer for use in the same.SOLUTION: A printer includes: a hinge section that, when a paper discharge face of the printer is set to the front face, is provided to the rear section of either the left or the right side face, and that connects an upper unit and a lower unit; and a talon member for latching the upper unit and the lower unit. The hinge section includes: a lower-side hinge bracket that is connected to the lower unit; an upper-side hinge bracket that is connected to the lower-side hinge bracket by a pivot pin, and that can rotate with the pivot pin serving as the center of rotation; and a bracket cover that contains and fixes the upper-side hinge bracket. The upper unit has a ring section into which the tip section of the bracket cover is inserted, and that enables the upper unit to rotate with the bracket cover serving as the center of rotation. |
