PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner device with no fear of a sheet jam, or a blur generated on an image of read data.SOLUTION: A scanner device comprises: a sheet table for placing a book of sheets; sheet pressure means for press holding the book of sheets on the sheet table; cut-off means for cutting off a glue binding part of the book of sheets; guide means for supporting the cut-off blade in such a manner as to allow it to reciprocate along the glue binding side edge of the book of sheets; a platen for reading downstream the sheet table; sheet feeding means for conveying sheets from the sheet table to the platen for reading; image reading means; and control means for cutting off gradually from top sheets by reciprocating the cut-off blade along the glue binding side edge of the book of sheets a plurality of times. The control means executes a sheet pressure operation for press holding the book of sheets, a cut-off operation for cutting off the book of sheets, a sheet pressure release operation for releasing the press-holding by the sheet pressure means, a sheet feeding operation, and an image reading operation in this order. The control means starts the image reading operation after the cut-off operation, and the cut-off operation for subsequent sheets after the image reading operation for the preceding sheets. |
