<p>The present invention relates to a light valve (100) comprising first and second sheets of planar float glass (1, 2) sealed by a joint (7), first and second electrodes (3, 4), an SPD system (5) having a thickness E that is no higher than 100 µm, and including spacers (6). The thickness A1, A2 of each one of the first and second sheets of glass is no higher than 6.5 mm and each of the inner surfaces has a dioptric defect rating, expressed in millidiopters, which is no higher than E/3 or 2E/3 according to the light transmission TL.
