The device has a collection container (2) for receiving ice pieces (3) produced in an ice piece producing unit (1). A detection device i.e. light barrier, monitors fill level of the collection container and includes a signal-emitting device (4) i.e. laser, and a signal-receiving device (6), where the signal-emitting device is adjusted in height or rotated about an axis. The signal-emitting device is adjusted using one of a lever, a handle, a rotary knob (7), or an adjusting screw, where an output signal of the detection device is operated to control production of the ice pieces. |
