PURPOSE: A data protecting and restoring system of an information storage device for a computer, using a ram, and a method thereof are provided to prevent the information storage device from being deteriorated which is caused by repeated fire recovery processes by protecting a new technology file system location table (NTFS) and data inside an existing information storage device in a method which manages the NTFS by moving the NTFS to the ram. CONSTITUTION: An information storage device (40) stores data, the new technology file system location table (NTFS) information of the data, and provisional data. A ram (20) loads the NTFS information of the data, which are stored in the information storage device, on an arbitrary area. A controller (10) copies the NTFS information of the data, which are stored in the information storage device, onto the ram according to booting or selection of a user, and extracts the NTFS information of the data from the ram according to a data request of an OS. A driver (30) returns the NTFS information which is extracted by a controller to the OS.
