The method involves reading selected data from MES database (1) and storing read data in an intermediate database (3) at certain time intervals. The buffered data is read and evaluated using application (7). The evaluated data are prepared for a display. The evaluated data is retrieved and displayed from application by key performance indicator (KPI) cockpit (9). An independent claim is included for a control device for monitoring performance of MES.
