A composition for the body of a collapsable tube, e.g. for toothpaste, is, e.g., polyvinyl chloride 67 to 77 per cent, dibutyl-phthalate 29 to 19 per cent, and the remainder, e.g. 4 per cent, calcium stearate. The shoulder and neck of the tube may have less plasticizer. Other plastics are polyvinylidene chloride, co-polymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate or vinylidene chloride and butyl rubber. Other plasticizers are dioctyl phthalate, tricresyl phosphate, or butyl acetyl ricinoleate. |
