Pressure piece with thermal compensation element

The rack and pinion steering has housing (11) in which gear rack (10) is displaceably mounted. The housing is provided with bore (13) that is set transverse to the gear rack. A pressure element (12) of pinion is arranged in the bore. The pressure element is urged against the gear rack using the adjusting screw. A thermal compensation element (16) is arranged between pressure element and adjusting screw (14), to compensate axial clearance of the pressure element. The height of thermal compensation element is calculated using specific formula.
