摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical plastic article for infrared communication, which has good dispersion of fine particles, and which is capable of presenting a white color by stably scattering and reflecting light in a visible light region. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical plastic article is configured such that a vinyl copolymer (C) with a weight average molecular weight of >1,000 and <500,000 is applied in a urethane or allyl-based monomer, which is agitated and heat or photocured, and fine particles of microphase-separated structure with the dispersed vinyl copolymer (C) is formed in the cured material. The vinyl copolymer (C) is obtained by copolymerization between a vinyl monomer (A), which has a SP value with a difference of <3 to a SP value of the cured material of the urethane or allyl-based monomer and a molecular weight of not less than 180, of 5-45 wt.% and a vinyl monomer (B), which has a SP value with a difference of not less than 3 to the same of the above, of 10-95 wt.%.
