The valve (14) has a body (34) comprising water flow pipeline walls (15) so as to form a chamber inside the body. Water passage openings allow flow of water from outside toward an interior of the valve. Water flow passages (39, 40a, 40b) are placed inside the body so as to allow flow of water between the chambers of the body. Flaps seal or release the water flow passages so as to direct flow of water inside the body. One of the walls includes an opening (16) in which an insert is placed. The insert comprises one of the passages. An independent claim is also included for a washing machine.
