PURPOSE: A search system and a search method thereof are provided to efficiently extract information associated with a query from the mass information, thereby improving the quality of search service. CONSTITUTION: A feature detector (110) extracts feature values of search data. A region decision unit (130) arranges the search data according to the feature values and classifies the search data into areas. A size of each of the areas is determined according to requested search performance which includes the recall rate and precision. The size of each of the areas is determined according to a critical range satisfying the requested search performance. A query receiver (140) receives queries from a user terminal (200). A search unit (150) extracts feature values of the queries, compares the extracted feature values of the queries with the feature values of the search data to generate search results.
