PURPOSE: A composite power generation system improving the thermal efficiency of an engine of a vessel is provided to reduce the generation of smoke and to improve the thermal efficiency and the accelerating performance of the engine. CONSTITUTION: A composite power generation system improving the thermal efficiency of an engine of a vessel comprises a main engine(10), a sub engine(70), a turbocharger(20), a heat exchanger(30), a gas turbine power generating unit(40), a boiler(50), and a steam turbine power generating unit(60). Compressed air which is preheated by a heat exchange with exhaust gas inside a heat exchanger connected to the gas turbine power generating unit is supplied to the inside of a combustor(42) of the gas turbine power generating unit. The exhaust gas discharged from the turbo charger or the heat exchanger is supplied to the boiler. In initial driving of the main and sub engines, a compressor(41) of the gas turbine power generating unit is operated so that the compressed air is generated. The compressed air is supplied to an intake air repository(14) of the main engine or an exhaust pipe(72) of the sub engine via initial supply lines(83,83a). |
