<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive apparatus for a vehicle driven by electric power, capable of detecting failure in an emergency shutdown function operating when a failure occurs in a drive control system for the vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In the drive apparatus for a vehicle, the vehicle 100 includes an electricity storage device 150, motor generators MG1, MG2, a PCU 200, current sensors 230, 240 for detecting a driving current, and an HV-ECU 350 for controlling the PCU 200. The PCU 200 includes an inverter 120. The HV-ECU 350 outputs, to the PCU 200, such a driving command as to feed a driving current to the motor generators MG1, MG2, and such a shutdown command as to shut down the inverter 120 in a higher priority than the driving command and detects the driving current while both of the driving command and the shutdown command are being output, thereby detecting that the failure exists in a shutdown function for shutting down the inverter 120. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
