The polishing device (1) has a tiltable base portion (2) made of metal, plastic or ceramic for directly or indirectly receiving a polishing plate (3). A rotary feedthrough (5) is provided, by which the polishing agent is supplied into a polishing agent channel (2.1) of the base portion. The rotary feedthrough is arranged directly or indirectly on a spindle shaft (4.1) and the base part is tiltable corresponding to the rotary feedthrough. The rotary feedthrough is formed in flow connection with the base portion through a flexible fluid connection (5.1). An independent claim is included for a method for zonal polishing of aspherical, non-rotationally symmetrical lenses.
